When we were approach to design and renovate this leslieville kitchen, we knew we were going to do something unique. The clients were very forthcoming about their kitchen style; a style that reflected their personality and lifestyle. So we set about designing a space that was true to their desires, the perfect english cottage kitchen.

Working within the confines of the space, we arranged the kitchen by relocating the fridge to an underutilized storage closet, which freed up space for additional counterspace. By swapping the cooktop and sink, we were able to dedicate more upper cabinetry and a beautiful custom hoodfan. In addition to the fridge, a new speed oven and wine fridge were also tucked into the former closet to create an appliance zone. Floating Oak shelves mounted above the seating area provided more storage for clients tea kettle collection and books. A combination of Cedar & Moss wall sconces, under cabinet lighting and DWR ceiling fan light provide ample task and decorative lighting. The kitchen features custom Farrow and Ball Cardroom green painted cabinets in two different doorstyles; shaker and vertical v-groove. Corbels, decorative valance trim, crown mouldings and wainscoting gives this kitchen its true english cottage vibe.

The clients wanted a stone with unique character, so we opted to use natural Quartzite countertops with classic ogee edge. A stone apron was applied to the sink cabinet to recreate an old world look. Vintage aviary wallpaper adds extra element of fun and character to the space. We sourced cabinetry pulls from Shayne Fox Hardware, locally handmade bronzed handles. For the floors, the clients wanted a durable surface that was easy to clean. We choose a chevron tile floor that simulated timeworn wood floor. Looking up to the ceiling, we replaced the old one with a new tin stamped ceiling panels with cornice moulding.
