We began as two designers each providing exceptional design in our own right. As we collaborated on a number of projects, we realized that two was better than one, and so combined our talents and resources to create designström . With the expansion of services offered In the past year, we have accomplished a great deal. We work together, laugh together, push ourselves further together and, most of all, love what we do everyday.

Linnea Lions

Born and raised near Stockholm, Sweden, Linnea moved to Toronto in 2003 after completing her interior design studies in Melbourne, Australia. Linnea began her design career in the architecture field where she spent five years creating working drawings and scale models for commercial buildings.

From there, Linnea moved farther into the design world and took a position managing a large design centre in downtown Toronto where she specialized in kitchen design, interior design, and space planning for residential homes. It was there that Linnea learned how to manage every aspect of a project from start-to-finish and discovered her passion for kitchens and bathrooms.

The rest, as they say, is history. More than a decade later, Linnea has designed spaces in all kind of homes and at every price point.  Linnea’s goal with every project is to help her clients love and enjoy their space.

Martin de Sousa

Since childhood Martin has had a love affair with solving space problems. Whether it was creating with lego, building sandcastles or rearranging his bedroom, Martin was constantly analyzing spaces, big and small. When he was introduced to drafting and CAD, Martin knew he had found his calling. It was a perfect blend of space planning, creative outlet and computer technology that would contribute to an ever- evolving career. Despite personal challenges with vision and hearing loss, Martin has been dedicated to pursue his passion for design, confident in his ability to overcome any obstacle.

Martin’s education at OCADU (Ontario College of Art and Design) in Interior Design provided him the opportunity to obtain a greater understanding of the design process by exploring his artistic and technical design abilities. Martin has received numerous design awards from the NKBA Design Competition, in both Canada and USA, and the Sub-Zero and Wolf Kitchen Design Contest. Martin has also attended the SieMatic Academy in Germany where he trained in kitchen planning and design.

Martin was fortunate to gain valuable experience by working for several independent designers as well as Binns Kitchen and Bath Design. His 12 years at Binns has allowed him to not only learn about design but the industry as a whole.
